2002 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

We are, once again, very pleased to bring you a wine that makes us proud! Sourced from several small vineyards in and around St. Helena, Napa Valley, we have our second vintage that takes us along our path—an obsession, really—of producing high quality, Bordeaux style wines that showcase the quality and class the Napa Valley can generate. Our winemaker crafted a wine that is drinkable upon release but exhibiting great aging potential well beyond 2010, this wine features a nicely focused bouquet of ripe black cherry, red currant with hints of shaved dark chocolate, and seamless oak integration. The wine is richly flavored, medium to full weight, neatly balanced and surprisingly polished given its age. With a fine tannin finish and beautiful detail throughout, it will complement a wide variety of foods (a rare thing for young Cabernets today!) Perfect for classic Duck Breast, Beef Filet or even Salmon with a red wine reduction, but just as good with casual Backyard Barbecue. But we digress…

This vintage gave us 199 cases and, as usual, they are all hand-labeled and wrapped in protective tissue paper. It is, after all, a hand-crafted wine. Also, we have spared no expense in the production of this wine: the best fruit, the best barrels, the best bottles and corks, and the best label we could generate. We trust that you will enjoy the quality throughout your “Morey Cellars Experience.”
